Can you believe the LW is only 2 months away from turning a year old?! Here are some highlights from the past month.
We have teeth! She cut her two bottom front teeth a few days ago. You can't see them yet, but you can feel them.
She's now eating finger foods pretty much exclusively. At some point she decided that she wants to do things herself (I have no idea where she gets that from) and started pushing the spoon away when we tried to feed her. So now we just give her whatever we're eating, cut up into little pieces. And man, can she eat! She throws back almost everything we put in front of her and can eat some pretty impressive quantities. I hear it's common for them to become pickier as they get older, so I'm enjoying this phase while it lasts!

She's crawling all over the place and can pull herself up to standing (very proudly, I might add).
She claps and dances to music.
She is consistently going to bed between 7:00-8:00 pm and waking up around 7:00 am. She'll occasionally wake up once in the middle of the night, but it's pretty rare these days.
LUCY IS SUPER STOKED THAT THE WARRIORS MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!! Having been born on Championship Day last year, the NBA Playoffs are in her blood.
Most importantly, Lucy is one happy little girl. She smiles and claps all the time, cracks up when she's tickled, and is starting to hug and "kiss" us. This is such a fun age and we are really enjoying it!
The big news around here is that Lucy has slept through the night for 3 nights in a row! And I'm talking sleeping through the night for reals. Usually there is at least one night waking around 3-4:00 am. But lately the LW has been hitting the hay around 7-8:00 pm and sleeping until 7-8:00 am. She's also getting better at going down drowsy, but awake, rather than needing to be rocked or bounced to sleep. Hopefully these good sleep habits will last!
Lucy is doing much better! Her cough is mostly gone and last night she slept through the night for the first time in a while. She is crawling all over the house and is having all sorts of fun exploring her new world. She seems to be a much happier girl now that she's mobile and has some independence. I feel like she went through a frustrating phase around the 8-month mark because she wanted to move so badly but couldn't quite figure it out. Now she has the ability to not only investigate things, but also follow us from room to room when we move out of sight.
The adventures of a crawler!
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like she's grown up A LOT in the past 2 weeks. The crawling seems to have ushered in a slew of new big girl developments. She's also eating cheerios now, trying to copy us when she babbles, and just generally LOOKING older. They're not lying when they say kids grow up fast!

We also had to bust out the pack 'n play so that we have an area to keep her contained when we need to. It was fun for about 10 minutes until mommy walked out of the room and she realized its true purpose.
Hi folks! I apologize for the break in the action. Life has been a little hectic lately. Lucy's cold ushered in a nasty upper respiratory infection. She has had a horrible cough for over a week now and we are all sleep deprived because of it. The cough is so bad that it triggers her gag reflex and makes her puke. So far I've been puked on 6 times and Erik has been puked on once (not that I'm counting). Then to top it off, she also has an ear infection, so she's on antibiotics until Wednesday. But (fingers crossed) I think we're finally on the upswing, as the days seem to be getting better and not worse.

But... all this hasn't stopped the LW from reaching some seriously exciting new milestones! As you may have guessed from today's title... Lucy is officially crawling!!!
Right now she's just moving a couple of feet at a time, but I'm sure that will change in no time.
We also had to lower the crib mattress as she's now sitting up in her crib and looking over the edge.

And of course, she turned 9 months old!

Also, here are a couple of videos taken after the cold but before the cough. I can't wait to have my silly, happy girl back!
Lucy just recovered from a pretty rough cold which caused her to run a fever of up to 102 for about a day and a half. She's on the road to recovery, but mom and dad are now sick. The joys of living with a germmonster!
Lucy is REALLY trying to crawl. She can get up onto all fours and lunge back and forth, but she hasn't quite figured out what to do with her arms and legs.
And still no teeth!
Other than her recent cold, everything is status quo around here, which is just how we like it!
Lucy, who turned 8 months old today, wants to wish her Papa Al a very Happy 70th Birthday! We had a great adventure traveling up to Tahoe last weekend to celebrate. Lucy enjoyed a couple of new "firsts," including snow, and, for approximately 2 minutes before they kicked us out, the sportsbook at Harvey's.

Now at about 7-1/2 months old, the Littlest Warrior is growing up fast and participating in a whole slew of new activities for the first time! Here are a few of some of the most recent milestones...
First Time Foods
Lucy has been trying many different new foods for the first time, including green beans, carrots, peas, and apples. She's been loving eating real food and usually waits patiently with mouth wide open for each bite. Which brings us to #2...
Large & In Charge
Her last weigh-in at 15lbs 12oz is triple her birth weight! This not only shoots her up into the 24th percentile for her age (you may remember she started in the 2nd), but it also officially makes her the largest animal in the house.

First Swing Ride
Lucy is now big enough for swing rides in the local park. It's been clear from early on that she is an unabashed thrill-seeker.

Rolling the dice that she was old enough to handle it, we took Lucy to the fanciest restaurant we could find...within the Target parking lot. Here is Lucy's first fine dining experience at Sizzler!

First Piano Lesson
After Lucy's now legendary Friday night DJ performance to a captivated audience of both humans and animals, we realized her amazing raw talent needed to be nurtured, so we began with Lucy's first piano lesson. Clearly, at this too she is a natural.

First Superbowl
For Lucy's first Superbowl we went to a friend's party to watch the big game. While I was somewhat afraid it would be a real-life version of the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial, the LW actually behaved very well and proved that even macho football fans cannot resist having their hearts melted by her signature smile. Here she is celebrating after the 49ers scored a last minute touchdown to win the game! WoooooHoooooo!!!!
